Women's Gravel Camp:

Bentonville, AR November 8-11, 2024 Come join Crystal Anthony and Paige Onweller for a 4-day gravel camp with a special treat: Crystal and Paige's own whole food cooking to fuel you!  Experience the expansive network of beautiful gravel roads in and around Bentonville, AR and learn from educational workshops covering topics such as fueling long rides and events, making equipment choices, navigating gravel event logistics, and more. Gain confidence on your gravel bike in a supportive small-group environment with personalized instruction and a professional mechanic on-site.  Feel free to participate hands-on with meal prep, or just enjoy the finished products; either way you will come away with a packet of new recipes that taste great and also fuel your body well. Included:

  • 3 nights lodging and accommodations at a luxurious Airbnb

  • Instruction and guidance from 2 professional, off-road cyclists with several educational meetings and Q&As during the weekend. Sample topics:  

    • On the bike = cornering at speed, pacelining, fueling during training vs racing, descending and underbiking 

    • Off the bike = nutrition, recovery, race tactics, bike set-up and equipment education 

  • Creative, whole-food meals included starting with dinner Friday evening through breakfast Monday morning (see schedule below) + recipe handouts to take home + in-kitchen training 

  • Licensed pro-level mechanic on site during camp 

Cost:

  • $1800 to $2,200 per rider pending room choice at registration 

*Riders are responsible for their own flight/travel to Bentonville as well as travel to the Airbnb. Once camp begins, riders will not need to drive anywhere as rides will depart from Airbnb and food is provided. 

How do I know this camp is for me? 

  • Regularly able to complete 3-4 hour training rides. 

  • Has basic familiarity/comfort with riding on gravel, but is looking to gain more specific skills and confidence riding gravel at speed and in variable terrain and conditions. 

  • Eager to learn more about the nutritional aspect of training and recovery.

Friday 11/8

3-4pm: Riders arrive to Airbnb, build bikes if needed, unpack  (Local airport is Fayettville, AR XNA)

4-5pm: Short, optional shakeout ride if desired 

6pm: Dinner + Review goals for weekend 

 

Saturday 11/9

930-1130 am: Skills Session 1 

12pm: Lunch 

1-2pm: Off Bike Education 1

2-4pm: Skill Session 2 

6pm: Dinner 

7pm: Off Bike Education 2 

Sunday 11/10 

8am: Breakfast 

9am: Supported long endurance ride, distance TBD 

2pm: Late lunch 

6pm: Dinner 

Monday 11/11

7am: Breakfast

8am: Short ride: Underbiking
